Nebo Iwenofu

Who am I?

I'm Nebo — a husband, father, and builder at heart. Outside of family time you'll find me playing soccer and tennis or working on a project, and professionally I'm a Data Engineering Manager at Meta, living in Oakland. I love doing things that have a real impact.

Latest projects

The Grounding Loop: Managing Drift — what happens when the world moves underneath a governed semantic layer, and the drift machinery — canary, pull-based updates, deterministic disclosure — that keeps the answers trustworthy.

The Grounding Loop: A Semantic Layer You Can Evaluate — a governed semantic layer an AI agent can be evaluated against, with the drift machinery that keeps it honest. Latest: three-part write-up series published. All projects.

Latest writing

The Grounding Loop: What It Means for Your Organization — data governance problems predate LLMs; agents just removed the human backstop. What the grounding loop demands of an organization: named owners, an enforceable platform contract, and a Captain.

Data Engineering in the Agent Era — as AI agents become consumers of enterprise data, the scarce skill is making data machines can understand, trust, and act on: build the data foundation, encode the meaning in a semantic layer, and evaluate the behavior.

On Property Taxes — what started as my own property tax appeal became a countywide analysis of Alameda County assessments: Proposition 13 protects longtime owners as designed, but peak-era buyers are being taxed on value the market took away. Includes three things the county should do about it. All writing.
